“Safety isn't expensive. It's priceless.”
Liam Robertson trained as a firefighter with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. His initial posting with the service was to Boness, which covered the top tier Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) petrochemical sites at Grangemouth and Kinneil.
After a number of years on the frontline, Liam was promoted to an operational post at Larbert where he lead teams of firefighters and became a health and safety representative for the station.
Liam’s career then took him to the Middle East to work as part of the Emergency Response/HSE Team with a newly started gas company, on a plant under construction in the UAE desert.
He gained his NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety during his time in Abu Dhabi and gained valuable experience in emergency planning, policy and procedure writing and review, projects, plant operations, safety training, auditing, confined space rescue supervision and training, health and safety management and environmental management.
Now back in his native Orkney, Liam is focused on using his extensive skills to assist local, Scottish and UK businesses and industries in all aspects of health and safety.
