Andy Whyte spent nearly four decades working in the Oil and Gas industry, on UK Oil and Gas Terminals, North Sea Production Platforms and UK offices. His career kicked off on the Flotta Oil and Gas Terminal (COMAH top tier site), where he progressed to Terminal Superintendent, Tactical Team Leader and finally, Operations Manager.

Project work took Andy to other onshore terminals and several offshore production platforms. Two of these projects included the design and implementation of a Safe System of Work (permit system) – both paper and electronic.

Andy thrives on addressing and overcoming business challenges in high risk environments. He is a seasoned leader with a proven capacity to manage, coach and train individuals and teams.

Andy joined the company in the summer of 2018,  bringing a range of strategic and operational services to the organisation, including first and second party auditing and support in achieving ISO accreditation (Quality 9001, Environmental 14001 & Health and Safety 18001), editing, reviewing and writing procedures for oil and gas operations (on and offshore), managing major projects, developing and delivering customer built HSE training packages.
His professional memberships include:

  • International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) – specialist and trainer.
  • Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) – practitioner and trainer.
  • Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Assessment (CIWEM).
  • Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) – technical and trainer.

To complement his credentials above, Andy also holds an MCA approved Advanced Power Boat Certificate with Commercial Endorsement and a Heavy Goods Vehicle class CE licence (class 1).
